Kia ora koutou katoa.
A warm Sara Cohen School welcome to all. Sara Cohen School is a school for students with intellectual disabilities. Sara Cohen School is Dunedin’s only specialist school and it has served the needs of the Dunedin region for the past 100 years and looks forward to supporting students and their families now and in the future.
At Sara Cohen School we have a dedicated team of Teacher Aides, Teachers, and Therapists who are highly trained to meet the needs of the community we serve. We pride ourselves on supporting our students to achieve their potential as learners and community members. This is done through a curriculum focusing on the student. Goals are set with family, student, teacher, and therapist input. This way we know what is most important for our students to learn.
I’m proud of the work that my staff do, the programmes and therapy we offer so that we are able to achieve the best outcomes for our ākonga (learners).
I encourage any parent/caregiver of a child who they believe would benefit from a specialist education to come and have a visit and tour of our facilities with me.
