Lunch in Schools

Sara Cohen School provide healthy school lunches every day to all students through the Ka Ora Ka Ako Healthy School Lunches Programme.

The Ka Ora, Ka Ako Healthy School Lunches programme aims to reduce food insecurity by providing access to a nutritious lunch in school every day. Around a million lunches are provided each week. Sara Cohen School has opted to make our own healthy lunches here at school.

Menus are usually set for the Term and parents/caregivers are sent a copy of the menu.

A Specialist Education Agreement (Section 37) must be in place for any student to enrol at Sara Cohen School.

A Specialist Education Agreement is a formal agreement between the Ministry of Education and the parent or guardian of the child.

A Specialist Education Agreement allows students to enrol in a specialist school. It also allows students to enrol outside the legal age in exceptional circumstances.

Before a student is enrolled in a specialist school, a conversation with the Ministry of Education, the parents/caregivers and the school takes place.
